5 Top Picks ‘Selfie-Centric’ Phones

Before the latest 2018 high-end smartphones hit the market we thought of a roundup of the phones presently available in the local market.

With so many smartphones thronging the tech environs, showing-off a feature-packed appeal we decided to focus (pun intended) on phones for the Selfie Centric. When it comes to the Selfie- consumer, the things to keep in mind are:

  • Focal depth, the aperture size (as it facilitates lighting conditions)
  • Megapixel (the megapixel count without appropriate sensor and software is not everything in itself)
  • Software Algorithm (is where the beautification on a face comes in and gives that beauty shot much desired with appropriate color tone)
  • Wide Angle (comes in as a useful feature when the expanse to be covered is on a greater focal range),
  • Countdown Timer (a nifty but very useful feature you may have to keep in mind for timed pictures or group photos).

Now that you know the criteria for a front facing camera we will mention a few phones that might get you the result you are looking for:

Vivo V7 Plus

This phone shifted from the dual camera from its prior release and now features a 24MP cam with a focal depth which is decent enough to capture detailed images in multiple light conditions. The megapixel count here makes up for the sensor and focal depth and offers a good wide-angle coverage (enough to impress us). With a 24 MP f2.0 camera, this handset conveniently delivers Selfies with a huge color palette and is a strong decent contender in the selfie phones.

Oppo F3 Plus

How could we not talk about OPPO in a selfie phones write-up? It is one of the faves among the selfie crowd in town. And it deserves every right to be there as well. Holding its ground as the choicest Selfie Phone for Selfie-centric and groupfies, OPPO’s 16 MP + 8MP dual cameras with integrated sensors offer loads. 16MP camera for your beauty selfies and the 8MP for wider aspect ratio ideal for the group selfies (groupfies). OPPO delivers the 16MP working at f2.0, 1/3 focal and depth convergence. This enhances the facial features and the software simultaneously aligns its Algorithm to deliver the best possible shot. What else can you ask for? Ok so, it has a Snapdragon 653 and the 4000mAh battery assures you keep clicking on tours and hiking and some more.

Huwaei Mate 10 Lite

A complete camera package is what you get in this particular phone. We picked this model so that there should be a price versus quality phone in the list of our 5 Selfie-Centric phones. Not just the price but the Mate 10 Lite offers you dual front cameras similar to OPPO’s cameras but with its software it compensates for everything that is in a selfie of groupfie. You get the clarity, the depth, bokeh and beautification (software rendered) and the low light condition is pretty impressive too. It stands well in our choice of the Top 5 here.

Samsung J7 Pro

So we came to Samsung a bit down on the scroll. Samsung is well known for its Sony sensor technology that it adapts with a seamless Software Algorithm technology to deliver good and highly responsive eye-popping images. With J7 Pro you get the same specs but the software however lags in terms of implementation. This makes the Samsung J7 Pro a good addition to our list.

Don’t worry. It is still delivering one of the best selfies out there but it has some competition. Although, the third-party selfie imaging softwares may add spice to deliver what exactly you would need. This will make up for the somewhat, just somewhat not top contender here.

Qmobile Noir A1

Price is the main reason why we added this Chinese mobile giant’s flagship here. At a very affordable price you get the bang for the buck. The Qmobile, here, with the A1 delivers a dashing fully integrated sensor and imaging chip 16MP camera. Enough said? Yes, Qmobile has made huge strides in imaging and software in the past two years. What else do you expect from the company? Popularly known as Gionee in the Western Hemisphere, Qmobile (Pakistan) delivers you the ideal mix of price and camera features for selfies that offer a good focal depth matching that of Vivo and others.
