Apple Update to Let You Disable App That Slows Down iPhone
Apple lets you check iPhone battery health now. After a history of keeping such information from end users of iPhone (Mac Computer are an exception) Apple finally announced on Wednesday that they will release an update to the iOS that will let the health of the battery of the product be shown and accordingly report when it needs to be replaced.
A software would also be allowed to be turned off which seems to be the hidden culprit behind the battery drainage. The realization of the battery draining software came December 2017 when Apple admitted that its own software contributes towards slowing the iPhone and corrected the problem then by replacement and pricing reviews.
Apple’s move on Wednesday to give iPhone owners information about the health of their batteries reverses the company’s longstanding refusal to make such information available directly on iPhones and iPads, even though battery health has long been easy to check on Apple’s Mac computers.
Kyle Wiens, CEO iFixit, said “The battery wears out,” The company publishes repair guides for iPhones and markets Apple’s products as sellers. “They have been pretending like the battery doesn’t wear out. They’ve made billions of dollars on that pretense” added Kyle Wiens.
Kyle is not alone in his views as many critics are of the same opinion and users themselves feel the same that Apple needs to address the issue of the battery drainage and the background apps that make it happen. This leads to degraded phone performance ending in damaging the device itself. The company’s secretive approach to this marketing gimmick has apparently come to a halt this Wednesday with plans mentioned above.
Any battery used for a device is obviously prone to drainage over charging cycles and the only way you can check your iPhone battery is by connecting it to a Mac. Much of this the Mac users already know but then again, you have to have a Mac if you use an iPhone or vice versa. Just a strong marketing technique.
Apple is now addressing such issues as the competition becomes cut-throat in the technology business. The chances of apple taking on third party apps doesn’t seem to gel with Apple so it may seem that they themselves may start addressing the issues that needed user control.
