Game of Thrones Season 7 Premiere breaks the previous Viewership Record, thanks to the 6 million Viewers via Streaming Platform
Game of Thrones has been one of the most watched and followed series in recent years. The fan following is so much that the Pakistan’s own social media was filled with thousands of status updates and tweets in the last couple of days with lots of episode’s spoilers thrown in between. With so much at stake, the latest premiere of Game of Thrones’ seventh season breaks the series record as whopping 16 million viewers tuned on to watch the first episode of season seven.
While first run live plus telecast amassed 10.1 million viewers, the streaming platforms such as HBO Go, and HBO Now as well as recently added Hulu added additional 6 million viewers making the last episode as the most watched episode in the entire series history at 16 million viewers surpassing last year season 6 finale which had 8.9 million viewers.
In 2014, Game of Thrones officially surpassed The Sopranos as the most-watched series in HBO history. The seventh season will be shorter than the previous six, running seven episodes through Aug. 27.
