VIVO ‘Apex’ Unveiling – ‘FullView’ A Step beyond just a Smartphone

Vivo reached its zenith with ‘Apex’ the flagship concept phone being unveiled at MWC featuring an ultra-dynamic concept in bezels and fingerprint sensing following the unveiling of Vivo X20 Plus UD. The idea is to have a drop in the bezel where it almost becomes a screen and back alone making it as slim as possible.

The concept is based on microchips planted directly under circuit board via the display triggering the pixel movement with the GPU connected metrics using the processor in conveying the communication method.

In this case, the communication is both secure and the display touch versatile. Half of the lower screen responds to the circuitry directly. Vivo calls the system ‘Half-Screen In-Display-Fingerprint-Scanning Technology’ FullView patented by the corporation. This makes the entire screen responsive and interactive.

Alex Feng, Senior Vice President of Vivo, on this prestigious occasion said “APEX™is an iteration of our constant pursuit of setting new industry standards and to deliver the ultimate mobile experience. From breakthroughs in audio, photography to In-Display-Fingerprint-Scanning Technology, Vivo has remained committed to realizing the vision for future smartphones. What we showcase in the concept phone is only a fraction of our innovation for future. We will continue to explore all possibilities to bring the best possible experiences for our consumers” added Feng.

The dimensions of the bezels are 1.8mm, with a 4.3mm bottom bezel with a screen-to-body ratio exceeding 98%. If minimized further the result is a pure revolutionary bezel-less handset.

The interconnected technology direct-to-board and display makes another revolutionary concept come to life in projecting sound through the front. And the slimmer the phone gets the easier it is to have the camera sensors concealed within the upper half of the screen making them an integral responsive mechanism for camera sensing operations.

Triggered by motion and aided by AI the entire concept seems to be the future of the smartphone or handheld devices. Taking it to its full potential the technology can create a device that will not only be intelligent but also a revolutionary screen.

If companies opt for this technology we will surely see a lot of change in television screens as well. For now, ‘Apex’ has shown the possibility to consumers at MWC 2018 and soon when this comes to the users it will change the way we choose our handsets – calling them devices than just smartphones.
